So you catch some kids vandalizing your property. You catch them red-handed. What do you do?  Call the police of course, but can you keep the kids in a closet til the cops arrive?

Apparently in Clyde, New York it is not a good idea.  That is what 53 year old Jesse Daniels did and now he is charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Daniels says he found the kids, four boys ages 8-10 inside the empty home he was fixing up for this father-in-law.  The damage to the home included holes in the walls, broken windows and graffiti spray-painted on walls. Daniels estimated that the damage exceeds $40,000.

He told the Local TV Station WHAM, "I was fortunate that they were in that room that had a closet, so I put them in the closet.   "I said, 'Listen, you guys are staying here until the police come, period.'"

Their parents claimed Daniels handled the boys roughly and threatened them with the hammer.  One parent said Daniels grabbed the neck of one of his sons and left a mark. He said that his boys are traumatized and that Daniels should have faced more charges.

The boys have been charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Their cases are being handled in Wayne County Family Court.

I’m not sure if I would have been real gentle with those kids if I found them busting up my house.

What do you think about stuffing them in the closet til the police came?
