Tax Preparations (Community)
Location: Bell County

United Way Of Bell County is seeking volunteers for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in 2010. NEEDED:volunteer tax preparers, greeters, translators, and quality assurance.Volunteer tax preparers provide free basic tax return preparation for low to moderate income families. Each volunteer tax preparer will need to complete tax preparation training and certification, including instruction on the use of electronic filing software. Basic computer skills are required in order to volunteer as a tax preparer.Training begins Saturday, January 9, but volunteers are encouraged to sign up early. Contact: 254-778-8616

LIFE HURTS GOD HEALS (Community)
Location: Temple Bible Church

Do you have a teenager in your life who is feeling pain? Do you have a teenage friend who is going through something you wish you could help them with? Do you have a teen in your family that needs someone they can talk to AND trust??!! Temple Bible Church is now registering for LIFE HURTS GOD HEALS for any student grades 7 -12 dealing with any kind of pain. The program is free to teens in the community. It's a 14 week course starting Feb. 9 2010. The group will be held at Temple Bible Church Ouotback every Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm beginning Feb 9th. Executive director of RMH in Temple, Susan Bolton, was with Evan and Brenda in the studio in February talking about their needs. As of January, the RMH is full, there is a waiting list. The Electric Security Association is accepting applications for 2010 Youth Scholarship Program. The program was created to promote goodwill among the electronic systems industry and police and fire officials by providing college scholarship awards to their deserving sons or daughters.
